Minhaj Sisters Midland region welcomed the New Year with a spiritual mehfil at the home of Sister Rozina Nawaz. As well as a celebration of the Mawlid un Nabi (SAW) a Giyarveen Shareef was organised in a most spiritual way in remembrance of Ghaus-e-Azam. The sisters wanted to increase their connection with Shaykh Abdul Qadir Gilani.
The group Minhaj ul Barakha performed their best naats and nasheeds with many audiences taking an active part.
Sister Nazia Barkat did a speech on the importance of the Wasila (intercession) of the Holy Prophet (saw) taken from a speech of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
This event was organised to allow the sisters to attempt recitation and even to learn how to do a dua at the end of a gathering. The younger sisters greatly benefit from these sessions in the comfort of a homely setting so that they can attend other events and have the confidence to speak and recite.
Young British girls have all the enthusiasm but can sometimes lack the confidence to speak up. So these kind of gathering and learning opportunities are essential for the next generation of young Muslims.
The older Minhaj Sisters are eager to pass on their experiences and knowledge to the younger sisters. The programme ended with a spiritual zikr, uplifting salaam and a heart touching dua.
The evening was concluded with food and a cake was cut to welcome in the New Year 2019.
