Manchester, UK: A historic and strategically significant meeting of the Minhaj European Council (MEC) was held at Minhaj-ul-Quran International Manchester under the esteemed chairmanship of His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam.
This milestone session marked a new chapter in the organizational development of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) across Europe. The meeting’s primary objective was to enhance the effectiveness, cohesion, and sustainability of MQI’s mission, ensuring its successful transmission to future generations and alignment with the evolving demands of the modern era.
The session was attended by MEC President Bilal Ashraf Uppal, MEC General Secretary Hassan Bostan, MQI UK President Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari, MQI UK General Secretary Moazzam Raza, MQI UK North Zone President Seerat Ali Khan, and MQI UK North Zone General Secretary Ahsan Khan. Their active participation significantly contributed to the success of the event.
Among other distinguished participants were Ali Imran Sheikh, Dr. Bushra Riaz, Rana Waqar, Marinah Syed Shah, Amir Sadiq, Awais Ejaz Ahmed, Babar Shafi Sheikh, Qaisar Zubair Najeeb, Khalid Mahmood, Muhammad Zil-e-Hasan, Chaudhry Nusrat Ullah Shahid, Ahmad Javed, Sarmad Javed, Shuaib Ashfaq, Saleha Azam, Dr. Tasneem Sadiq, Sohaib Shabbir Gamani, Umar Mirza, Shahid Malik, and Shahid Khan.
In addition, many MEC Executives participated online, reaffirming their dedication and unwavering commitment to the mission.
During the session, MEC President Bilal Ashraf Uppal expressed heartfelt appreciation to Minhaj-ul-Quran International Manchester for their exemplary support in organizing and hosting the event. He presented an in-depth overview of MEC’s Strategic Plan 2030, outlining the Council’s objectives, vision, and comprehensive planning framework — officially endorsed by Chairman Supreme Council Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri.
MEC General Secretary Hassan Bostan delivered a detailed briefing covering the organizational structure, introduction of new forums, and reforms under the updated framework. He presented a Europe-wide report of MEC’s current structure and focus areas as of May 2025, offering both practical and data-driven insights into its ongoing work.
All MEC forums and National Executive Councils (NECs) presented their annual reports, highlighting major activities, achievements, challenges, and solutions from the previous year. These presentations reflected a strong emphasis on organizational consolidation, dawah and educational initiatives, training programs, welfare projects, and efforts to spread the mission’s message at the grassroots level.
Looking forward, all forums and NECs also presented their objectives and strategic plans for the coming year.
His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam attentively followed the entire session, expressed deep satisfaction over the progress and performance of the forums and NECs, and commended MEC’s organizational development. He particularly appreciated the active engagement of members in training workshops, calling it a promising sign for the future of the mission.
His Eminence emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and consistency as the cornerstones of success. He offered invaluable guidance and direction, urging members to embody sincerity, patience, and steadfastness in their service. He highlighted transparency, consultative processes, and merit-based decision-making as essential pillars of organizational integrity. He also called for continuous training, internal accountability, preparation of future leadership, and the development of contextually relevant dawah strategies for Europe. He particularly encouraged greater inclusion of youth in leadership and organizational roles.
Finally, a formal dinner was hosted in honor of the participants, providing space for informal exchange and fellowship.
This landmark event was not only a powerful display of organizational synergy but also a hopeful prelude to the continued success of Minhaj-ul-Quran International’s mission in Europe.
