Sweden: Shaykh-ul-Islam's lecture on 'Moral Excellence and Spiritual Advancement'

Human rights form the core of Islamic teachings: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri addressed a conference on "Moral Excellence and Spiritual Advancement" in Sweden as part of his European tour. Renowned Syrian scholar Shaykh Taj al-Din was the guest of honour at the occasion. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Al-Madni, and Shaykh Ahmad Mustafa Al-Arabi were also present on the occasion. The conference was attended by the workers and leaders of MQI and PAT Sweden in large numbers.

In his address, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri threw light on the importance of moderation and balance in life. He said that Islamic teachings create a sense of balance and dissuade the faithful to take extreme positions, adding that this aspect underpins the core of Islamic teachings.

Dr Qadri said that Islam is all about good manners and morality. He said that we cannot be good Muslims unless we embellish our lives with excellence of morality. He urged the audience to take to reading the life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and draw their lessons to refashion their lives accordingly.

The PAT Chairman said that Islamic philosophy of rights is unique and it is distinct from similar set of rights propounded by other faiths and religions. He said that Islam gave a special place to the rights of the people without any discrimination. He said that the Prophetic period saw the implementation of these rights in an excellent manner, thereby becoming a code of conduct for others to follow.

Dr Qadri said that whosoever reforms his conduct, becomes regular in the performance of his duties, avoids telling lies and backbiting and follows the footprints of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Allah enlightens heart of such a person with purity and knowledge as a reward.

At the end, Shaykh-ul-Islam congratulated Syed Mahmood Shah, Babar Sheikh, Rizwan Butt, Farhan Nazir, Muhammad Rasheed, Abdur Raoof, and the office bearers of Minhaj Women League for holding such a wonderful conference.
