On the 22nd of November 2015 Minhaj Women League (Sandwell) held a gathering in the local Mosque in Smethwick in remembrance of the great Saint Ghaus Al Azam (R.A). Sister Sadia Bibi who's the President of Sandwell Minhaj Women’s League started off the gathering with a brief welcome message to all the ladies that attended. Sister Zulaikha Kosar was then invited to recite a verse of The Holy Qur'an followed by a Nasheed.
Sister Shazia, General Secretary of Birmingham Minhaj Women’s League, had been invited by the Sandwell organization to give a speech in Urdu language. Sister Shazia delivered a beautiful speech on the importance of worshiping Almighty Allah. Sisters Henna Nawaz and Arifa Ali from Minhaj Youth League recited a Naat and played the Duff (Tambour) instrument while reciting.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri's lecture during his visit to Ajmer Dargah was played on DVD. Ajmer Sharif or Dargah Sharif is a Sufi shrine (Dargah) of Sufi saint, Moinuddin Chishti located at Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. In this DVD Shaykh-ul-Islam explains the high status of Awliya Allahs (Sufi Saints). The attendees listened attentively and Sister Sadia asked them questions relating to the speech they just heard. Whoever answered correctly received a copy of this DVD as a prize.
Sister Razia, who is Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Community Worker for the Midlands Zone, joined the gathering and gave a talk to the ladies regarding Minhaj Welfare Projects which are ongoing. Sister Henna Nawaz from Minhaj Youth League gave a speech in English about how we should be compassionate towards human beings, not just to the Muslim Ummah but to every living being. Henna explained to us the importance of adopting the characteristics of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Sister Shanaz from Sandwell chapter also delivered a speech on the epoch of Karbala. Lastly Sister Ruksana Iqbal from MWL Birmingham concluded our programme with Durood Sharif (salutations) and Dua (Prayer).
