Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Rotterdam, Holland chapter) organized a programme in connection with the holy month of Muharram on November 16. A large number of women attended the event. The idea was to make participants aware of what Muharram stands for and why the month has been so holy in the history. Ms. Tabinda Mahmood, from The Hague, was the keynote speaker at the occasion. In her speech, she threw light on the philosophy of martyrdom and what message the epoch of Kabla conveyed to the Muslims in particular and humanity in general.
A video lecture of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on the subject was also shown. It was followed by a talk delivered by Ms. Sumaira Rafaqat. She talked about the philosophy of this event and how every human should try to act upon teachings of the great Imam in his/her life. MQI Rotterdam team, which played a key role in making the programme success included Anny Sheikh, Azmi Latif, Shama Talib, Rafiah Sayed and Lubna Akhtar.
