Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (MWL), West Bridgford, held its weekly Halqa-e-Durood gathering on the 6th September 2015 at the home of Sister Saima Faqoor.
Alhamdulillah, the gathering was attended by both MWL members and non-members. The program commenced with a beautiful recitation and translation of Surah Al Baqara from The Glorious Quran by Sister Salma Rafiq (Membership Secretary). This was followed by a clip of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s speech that explained in great detail the above mentioned verses. In his speech Shaykh-ul-Islam elucidated the crux of these verses, that a person can only begin his journey of Islam once he accepts everything in the Holy Quran without the need to reason, analyse or apply logic. Only then does our Salah or prayer (in any form) make sense and is profitable for us.
Sister Kausar Yaqoob (Dawah Secretary) gave a talk touching upon significant issues in Islam pertaining to women, including prayer and adherence to modesty in dressing when not in the sanctuary of the home. The audience were enlightened and very impressed by Sister Kausar's talk.
Sister Kauser also set up a book stall and distributed Minhaj Dawah Project Leaflets and informed all attendees how the Minhaj Dawah Project works and provided collection boxes for those who wanted to contribute towards this project.
The Mehfil continued with recitation of Qaseeda Burda Shareef, Salaam and then Zikr by all sisters present. The Mehfil was formally concluded with a Dua by Sister Kausar.
