
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri participated in a "Meet and Greet Session" as a special guest and delivered an address organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran International Portugal.
The session was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Council Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj European Council Bilal Uppal, Patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran Portugal Muhammad Sagheer, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Portugal Kashif Nazir, along with many distinguished individuals from various walks of life.
A “Meet & Greet Session” was organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran International Portugal at a local hall in the capital city, Lisbon, which saw enthusiastic participation from Muslim and non-Muslim communities, including the Pakistani diaspora residing in Portugal.
In his address, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri eloquently highlighted the true purpose of human life, the importance of spiritual development, and maintaining a strong connection with faith. He stated that human life is not confined merely to material needs; rather, it also encompasses a profound spiritual dimension, the fulfillment of which is possible through remembrance of Allah, acts of worship, and a proper understanding of religion.
He emphasized that early childhood upbringing forms the foundation of a person’s character, urging parents to pay special attention to the religious and moral training of their children and to lead by example through their own conduct.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri further stated that environment and society play a crucial role in shaping human personality; therefore, it is essential to keep the younger generation connected to mosques and religious centers.
Stressing the importance of understanding the Holy Qur’an as “Furqan” (the criterion between right and wrong), he stated that it enables individuals to distinguish truth from falsehood. He also highlighted that a mosque is not merely a place of worship but an effective center for education and character-building, and that sustained effort, hard work, and perseverance are fundamental requirements for the preservation and promotion of religion.
A question-and-answer session was also held, during which participants raised important issues related to Islam, the challenges faced by Muslims living in non-Muslim countries, the concerns of the Pakistani community, social instability, and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
