The founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, addressed a grand Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

During his speech, he highlighted that social media is being used to issue fatwas of disbelief and to hurl insults for the sake of dollars. He expressed concern that the morals of the youth are being corrupted, and this misuse of religion and abusive language is turning the new generation away from Islam.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri emphasized that Islam is a religion that upholds the values of brotherhood, tolerance, and peace, but under the guise of religion, its true values are being distorted, alienating the younger generation from its principles. He urged scholars, Sufi leaders, and spiritual guides to rise against this fitna (trial) and restore the true role of spiritual centers, pulpits, and prayer niches.

Delegations from Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, the Middle East, and Europe attended the conference, along with a large number of scholars and university professors from Malaysia.

The event was organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran International Malaysia. Special participants included Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Shaykh Hamad Mustafa Al-Madani Al-Qadri, Shaykh Ahmad Al-Arabi, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Ali Imran, and Muhammad Musa.

In his address, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri stated that Islam is a religion of peace and safety, and the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) provided teachings for the welfare of humanity. Islam teaches love and brotherhood, not hatred and revenge.

Shaykh-ul-Islam condemned the trend of issuing fatwas of disbelief on social media under the guise of religion, stating that those who indulge in such activities for dollars are distorting the true values of Islam. He called on the educated class of the Ummah to reject this environment of abusive language and educate the youth to avoid spreading such hatred unknowingly. He also encouraged discouraging such elements who sell religion for their own gains.

Before the conference began, Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri also launched his book on the fitna of the Khawarij and counter-terrorism. The book is 600 pages long and provides a detailed discussion on the fitna of the Khawarij in light of the Quran and Sunnah.
