Three of our distinguished members and community leaders were awarded the Medal of Honour for their exemplary and outstanding services to the community by the Hong Kong S.A.R.
In order to celebrate their remarkable achievements, Minhaj-ul-Quran organized an important program on Sunday, 12th February at Minhaj-ul-Quran Islamic Centre Kwai Chung.
These esteemed members of our community are:
Mr. Qamar Zaman Minhas
Dr. Rizwan Ullah
Mr. I.S Batcha
Mr. Qamar Minhas is a leading Pakistani businessman and a philanthropist based in Hong Kong. He is also a life member of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
Dr. Rizwan Ullah is an educationist and serves on a number of government and non-governmental platforms in Hong Kong. Dr. Rizwan Ullah has been very active in society and helps Minhaj-ul-Quran whenever needed.
Mr. I.S Batcha served Minhaj-ul-Quran Hong Kong as the president for almost 2 decades. Mr. Batcha also actively takes part in many social and community works and is always ready to help fellow humans.
As Minhaj-ul-Quran believes in honoring its members and affiliates, a program was held to celebrate the distinguished achievements of these individuals.
Another important segment of the program was to introduce the Youth Development Blueprint recently launched by the Government of Hong Kong S.A.R. To present the highlights of the blueprint, Mr. Wallace Lau, the commissioner for youth, from the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, was invited as a chief guest.
The program started with the recitation of the verses of the Holy Quran in the voice of Qari Usman Altarazi. Next, the Senior Vice President of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Mr. Hafeez Mohammad welcomed the guests and briefly introduced Minhaj-ul-Quran International. After that, Mr. Wallace Lau, the chief guest, gave a briefing on the Youth Development Blueprint which was followed by a Q&A session in which many exciting and thought-provoking questions were asked.
Then Mr. Wallace presented the congratulatory shields to three of our esteemed members for receiving the Medal of Honour. Next, these three distinguished individuals delivered a thank-you speech and shared the struggles they have gone through in order to reach this milestone.
Also, Dr. Rizwan Ullah was appointed as an advisor to the Executive Committee of Minhaj-ul-Quran Hong Kong and was presented with the Letter of Appointment by the Principal Cheung from Hong Kong Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School.
Another important part of the program was to present the Life Membership Certificates to our members, who recently became life members of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
Towards the end of the program, Hafiz Naseem Naqshbandi, the chief Imam of Minhaj-ul-Quran Hong Kong shed some light on celebrating the achievements of fellow Muslims from the Islamic perspective.
Mr. Mohammad Najib, the president of Minhaj-ul-Quran Hong Kong delivered a note of thanks and expressed his gratitude to all the participants and guests for attending the program.
The program was concluded with group photos and refreshments.
