Sahara school for children with special needs was inaugurated on 30th July 2022 at # 200, 2nd cross, 2nd stage opp Tippu Park in Udaygiri, Mysuru. This special school is a project by Minhaj Interfaith & Welfare Foundation (MIWF).

To grace this occasion, Mr. Ayub Ansari (Central Executive Council Member Of Minhaj ul Quran International India (MQI) General Secretary MQI Karnataka), Mr. Zubair Ansari (Central Executive Council Member of Minhaj ul Quran International India (MQI) President MQI, Maharashtra) Mr. Sayed Faraz Muhiuddin (Central Executive Council Member of Minhaj ul Quran International India (MQI) State President MQI, Karnataka), Mrs. Malini R (District Disability Welfare Officer, Mysuru), Prof. V. Jaganatha (former scientist engineer, ISRO, Bangalore & co-ordinator, people science forum, KRVP, Mysuru), Mr. J. Govindaraju (District President, Karnataka) state government employees association, Mysuru were present as chief guests.

The program was started with a welcome speech by Dr. Alsheik Ziauddin (MIWF, head, India, central working council member of MQI, India) who addressed the gathering by introducing & welcoming all the chief guests to the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking to the gathering, all our chief guests expressed their happiness and congratulated the Sahara team and Minhaj Interfaith Welfare Foundation for taking the initiative of opening such a special school in Mysuru.

Children with special needs are often neglected and are not exposed to society, which makes it difficult to manage them by parents, opening this Sahara special school will really help the parents as well as children to adjust with the general environment. And also spoke about co-operation facilities to aid these kids said Mr. Ayub Khan (Corporator of udaygiri), Mr Ayub Ansari (Central Executive Council Member Of Minhaj Ul Quran International India (MQI)General Secretary MQI Karnataka) Mr Zubair Ansari (Central Executive Council Member of Minhaj ul Quran International India (MQI) President MQI, Maharashtra) Mr. Sayed Faraz Muhiuddin (Central Executive Council Member of Minhaj ul Quran International India (MQI) State President MQI, Karnataka) appreciated the mission & vision of the school and promised to stand by Sahara team. Also encouraged to open up many more projects in future in all states.

Mrs. Malini R (District Disability Welfare Officer, Mysuru ) speaking to the gathering said these children are not disabled, these are children with special needs, which need more care to handle. He also spoke about the difficulty in managing these kids at home and training these parents in school is one of the important tasks which will be done in Sahara school. This will benefit many families and children with special needs & congratulated Sahara school team & MIWF & encouraged their support & efforts.

The introduction of the school, aims & vision of the school was delivered by Mrs. Irfana Husen who is the managing director of Sahara special school. She spoke about the services like special educational programs, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and hearing testing that are provided in this center. All these services will ensure the overall development of the children which make them better adapted to society.

All the chief guests did the ribbon-cutting ceremony, visited a classroom for children with intellectual disability, classroom for children with autism, classroom for children with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities, physiotherapy, occupational therapy room, speech-language therapy room, and hearing assessment room.

Facilitating and honoring was done to all the chief guest’s vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Afroz Khan. Special thanks to Mr. Alsheik Ziauddin for his contribution to proposing the idea of opening a school in Mysuru. Md Kausar, Md Azhar, Md Khadeer khan, Mrs. Irfana Husen, and Mrs. Fazeelath & other Sahara team, all the chief guests and those who attended the program.

The Program was concluded by the national anthem by Mrs. Fazeelath.
