Annual procession marks Mawlid-un-Nabi in Connecticut USA

On Saturday, November 14th, 2020, Minhaj-ul-Quran Al-Noor Islamic Center, Ellington, Connecticut, USA held the annual 5th Milad parade in celebration of Mawlid-un-Nabi (peace and blessings be upon him), which was sponsored by Director Minhaj-ul-Quran Al-Noor Islamic center CT, Allama Muhammad Sharif Kamalvi and the Islamic Center committee.

The program began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Numan Sarwar. The Naat recitation was done by Muhammad Faheem, Hussain Raza Ch. and Khalil Ahmad Gujrati. The speeches, on the occasion, were given by Allama Muhammad Sharif Kamalvi and Qari Fazal Rasool Chishti.

The procession began at 2:00 pm from the Ellington Town Green and moved to Arbor Park, a length of o.5 miles. There were roughly 70 men, women, and children in attendance. The participants were fully engaged in the Naats, chanting slogans as well as holding various flags and signs. People wore face masks and practised social distancing during the whole procession because of COVID-19. A lot of people could not attend the Milad Parade because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Following the procession, the participants met at Minhaj-ul-Quran Al-Noor Islamic Center in Ellington, CT to say their prayers and enjoy a delicious meal.
