Lectures on life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) delivered

By the Grace of Almighty Allah (SWT) and His Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth and Sisters League organized a course in remembrance of the holy month, Rabi ul Awwal. The course consisting Seerah lectures was presented by Allama Hafiz Yasir Naseem, who graduated in Islamic Philosophy, Islamic Studies along with Arabic and is the current Allama of Minhaj-ul-Quran The Hague. The aim of this course was increasing our knowledge about the seerah of our Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Within the period of 5 weeks, Allama Hafiz Yasir Naseem discussed the seerah on a weekly basis, starting from the holy birth to the departing of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). We divided the seerah into 5 subtopics which were discussed in each lecture.

In the first lecture we started with the beginning of the seerah: ‘Wiladat e Rasool (peace and blessings be upon him)’. Allama Yasir Naseem discussed the circumstances where the Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was born in and what happened until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell under the care of Hazrat Abu Talib (RA) at an age of 8 years.

The second lecture included how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met his first wife, Hazrat Khadija al-Kubra (RA) and how their family started to grow. The daughters of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the reason why the sons of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left this world on a young age were discussed.

In the next class the ‘Elaan e Nabuwat’, Ghar e Hira, the first revelation, the phases of Dawah (invitation to Islam) and the hijrat to Habsha were discussed in depth.

Lastly, we ended the course with the departure of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from this world in the 10th Hijri year and the start of the caliphate.

Besides the seerah, Allama Hafiz Yasir Naseem included some Arabic grammar notes and facts about the Islamic history in the classes. At the end there was a lesson for the youth that we could take from the seerah of the Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The participants learned that the life, the circumstances in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lived in were not ideal. The youth living in this era grows up with their parents doing everything for them, having all the luxury they want. Despite the luxury and parents that provide everything, there is a lack of gratitude towards our parents and to Allah swt. The Prophet, who suffered grief is the most loving, trustworthy, honest and respected man of all times. The personality of our Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is not only praised by Muslims, but universally. Michael H. Hart, an American author has made a chart of ‘’The Most Noble and influential and successful person of history’’ with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on number 1.

“Indeed, Allah conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger (Muhammad) from among themselves”. - Al ‘Imran 3:124
