A monthly gathering of Halqa-e-Durood and Mehfil-e-Dhikr was held at the Ashton Central Mosque on Saturday 15th October 2016. This regular gathering held at the Mosque encouraged families to participate in the honorable message of invocations and salutations on the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and the remembrance of his family (Ahle Bayt) during the sacred month of Muharram.
The programme began with the beautiful recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Allama Qari Zahid Sharif Rizvi (Imam & teacher at Ashton Central Mosque). After which Shahbaz Hassan Qadri (MQI-Ashton Dawah Secretary) led the collective Arabic praise in honor of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was followed by a collective recitation of Durood Shareef led by Haji Muhammad Ashfaq Warsi (President MQI-Ashton).
Allama Qari Zahid Sharif Rizvi then led the recitation of the Wazaif given by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for all Halqa-e-Durood gatherings. Each participant of the gathering was provided with printed copies of the Wazaif and followed the recitation with great enthusiasm.
Shahbaz Hassan Qadri then honorably recited a Manqabat in tribute of the sacrifice of Imām Husayn ibn ‘Ali (‘alayhi as-salām) and their blessed family members and associates.
Then Allama Qari Zahid Sharif Rizvi delivered a brief but effective talk on the importance of the sacrifice of Imām Husayn ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) and the love that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had for his grandsons Imām Hassan and Imām Husayn (a.s.).
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Husayn is from me, and I am from Husayn. Allah loves whosoever loves Husayn.”
Haji Muhammad Ashfaq Warsi then led an extremely engaging and spiritual Mehfil-e-Dhikr. Allama Qari Zahid Sharif Rizvi led collective Salam on the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and concluded with the final supplication conveying all recitations of Durood-e-Paak brought to the gathering and additional Wazaif read for the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Ahl al-Bayt and especially for the ill, poor and less fortunate people of this world.
In total 19,519,694 Durood Shareef recitations were gathered on this occasion and have been forwarded to the Minhaj-ul-Quran International Central Collection of Durood Shareef.
By the end of the gathering there were approximately 150 attendees, with an equal split between males and females. The event was appreciated as a family gathering with a very blessed conclusion and duration.
Tabarruk was distributed after the gathering's conclusion and was appreciated by all the attendees of the Ashton Central Mosque.
MQI (Ashton) President Haji Muhammad Ashfaq Warsi thanked all attendees and announced that the next Monthly Halqa-e-Durood Gathering is scheduled to be held on: Saturday 19th November 2016, at Ashton Central Mosque.
