PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri held a meeting with H.E. King Abdullah II of Jordan on the occasion of the International Sirah Conference. King Abdullah appreciated Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri for his contributions to peace building and scholarly work with regard to elimination of terrorism and extremism. He said that he studied the Fatwa against terrorism and suicide bombing and it was a great service of Islam and humanity.
Issues relating to Middle East and challenges facing the Islamic world came under discussion in the meeting. King Abdullah expressed his deep grief and sorrow on the loss of precious lives in the terrorist incidents in Pakistan and the Islamic world.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Jordan is an important country of Middle East and the Islamic world. He said that expatriate Pakistani community is busy taking part in the development of Jordan in a very peaceful environment. He said that they are yet another bridge between Pakistan and Jordan as they bind them in stronger bonds. He said that the holding of the International Sirah Conference in Jordan will be instrumental in strengthening fraternal bonds and bringing the Muslim world closer. He congratulated the King on the successful holding of the Conference and providing his personal patronage for the international event.
He further said that those linking terrorism with Islam are the biggest threat to the world peace. The King expressed his deep concerns on the wave of terrorism in Pakistan and conveyed his best wishes for the people of Pakistan.
