Ramadan is an especially opportune time to reflect on the blessings of Allah Almighty and feel for the poor. When we eat less, our stomachs shrink, and we feel full after a few bites at the end of the day. Fasting allows us to experience once a year what many throughout the world experience almost daily. Hunger, for them, is not a choice; it is simply a fact of life. In Islam, feeding people carries great virtues as can be seen from Qur’an and Hadith.
Under Phase-3 Help Feed Project of Minhaj Interfaith & Welfare Foundation (MIWF) the distribution of ration among the needy and underprivileged sections of society was carried out in
- Badarpur, Assam (Ramadan Ration packs for flood victims of Assam Floods),
- Bahraich, Gujarat (Ration packets were delivered to more than 60 families at their doorstep)
- Chandigarh
The purpose of ration distribution among the needy and the poor was not only meant to facilitate them during ‘Sehri and Iftar’ but also to create awareness among the well-to-do people about the need of coming forward and helping the poorest of the poor out of resources Allah Almighty has endowed on them. We would like to thank all of our donors and volunteers for their contributions/ efforts in this blessed month.
We are continuously planning for welfare of poor families in these areas through various other projects like free medical and eye check camps, medicine distribution, scholarships, Eid packs and other welfare activities. We look forward to our donors to contribute for these projects.
