Netherlands: Seminar on education of youth held

By the Grace of Almighty Allah (SWT) and His Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Netherlands) organized in The Hague a seminar titled 'Prophetic Wisdom in Turbulent Times' for youth and young professionals.

The seminar took place on the 31st of January. More than 400 people of different cultures attended the event in The Hague to hear Tasneem Sadiq al-Qadri and Mohamed Aarab, the two main speakers of the event, share their wisdom. The speakers shared with the participants with the messages of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in particular on raising and educating the younger generation of Muslims in the West.

Our speakers also focused on how to persevere and stay calm, and spread peace in turbulent times like these. Those who attended also enjoyed beautiful Quran recitations and nasheed by Sheraz Malik and Mojtaba Hashemi. To take some form of knowledge home, there was a book stall where attendees could buy books published by Minhaj-ul-Quran. Famous available works included: The Supreme Jihad, Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings, Islam on Mercy and Compassion, Minhaj-us-Sawi part 1 & 2, Fatima (S.A: The Great Daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and The teachings of Islam. All these works are written by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

After the lectures, there was a Q&A session hosted by Umar Mirza. Tasneem Sadiq al-Qadri and Mohamed Aarab answered questions asked by the participants. The visitors sent in their questions through a website during the programme from their mobile phones.

Among the attendees, the presidents and secretaries of Minhaj-ul-Quran from other cities were also present. Even though he recently moved to The Netherlands and is working on his Dutch language skills, Imam Hafiz Yasser Naseem (The Hague) also enjoyed the programme, which was entirely in Dutch.

There was also a special programme for children between the ages of of 4-11 years. Children were entertained by a special staff specialized in child care. The children visibly enjoyed their evening and got to learn about the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Hashim Naushahi taught the children stories about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with the art of storytelling. The children also got to do colouring, games, and enjoyed a magic show by Mohammed Faizi Nazir. And of course, they also enjoyed dinner prepared by Minhaj Women League, The Hague.
