PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has predicted that the upcoming local government elections will not bring any positive news for the people. He said that the exercise would prove to be more of the same as a replica of the General Elections 2013. He said that unless the system is fixed through sweeping and fundamental reforms, the occupation and corrupt mafia will continue to get imposed on the nation through politics of deal-making in one way or the other and there will be no respite for the masses.
Dr Qadri expressed these views on reaching London after conclusion of his tour of the European countries yesterday. He said that the Election Commission came into being as a result of collusion of two political parties and it will continue to be beholden to its masters in a quid pro quo. He said that all steps of the ECP are meant to protect the political interests of the benefactors.
The PAT Chairman said that the overseas Pakistanis are satisfied over the leading role of the Army Chief in the war against terrorism and corruption in the country and they hope that this crucial war against militancy and corrupt gangs will not fall victim to any political expediency.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has not fully recovered from his ailment. He will undergo some more tests during his stay in London. PAT leader Dr Raheeq Abbasi, MQI UK President Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari, Abu Ahmad Adam Sherazi, Allama Zeeshan Qadri, Haji Abdul Ghafoor, Shahid Mursaleen, Shahid Iqbal, Mubashar Suhail and a large number of workers received Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on reaching London.
