The members of the Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Gambian, Lebanese, and American communities from the Dallas Fort Worth area joined in a night of celebration commemorating the Mawlid-un-Nabi program hosted by the Minhaj-ul-Quran Dallas at Jame’ Hasan al-Basri. The celebration took place on the 18th of January. Joining the gracious night of the Mawlid-un-Nabi was our chief guest Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order.
The programme began with one of Minhaj youth coordinators, Hashir Siddiqui, heading the youth segment, with performances of nasheed and recitation of Quran. The multi-ethnic night then continued with the Imam of our Minhaj-ul-Quran Community Center, Shaykh Abdul Basit al-Qadri al-Azhari as the Master of Ceremony, who introduced the various guest speakers and singers and spoke about the blessings of this night and the love of our Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him). He also reiterated the philosophy and ideology of love, compassion, interfaith dialogue and harmony espoused by Minhaj-ul-Quran International throughout the program, demonstrating the dedication this mission has to revitalizing the love of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) in our lives.
Dr. Mansoor Mian, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Dallas, humbly introduced the chief guest with his own personal experiences with the renowned Shaykh Kabbani. Shaykh Noor, Shaykh Kabbani’s son, spoke on the status of our Iman today and our quest to reach the status of Mu’minun. He explained how the belief in the unseen is simply the beginning of Iman, but in order to even learn what Iman is, we need our beloved Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him). This became the catalyst for Shaykh Kabbani’s speech, emphasizing the level of Iman required today to believe in the esteemed station of the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) and the love our Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) has for us as his Ummah.
The Shaykh continued to speak on the devotion the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) to his Ummah, acting as intercession for us on the Day of Judgment. Shaykh Hisham Kabbani also praised Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for his devotion to Din and referred him to as “SUFI MAN”. Shaykh Kabbani then concluded with a beautiful reminder: we need a guide, a guide to show us the path to the love of our Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him), and to join him in his eternal ascension to Allah Almighty.
