On New Year’s Eve of 2014, MYL-Sisters in Halifax held their annual new year Dhikr and Halqa-e-Darood at 10.30 pm at Minhaj Education centre; to commence the year with the blessings of Remembrance of Allah Almighty & His Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The sisters from Halifax and Huddersfield participated in this blessed gathering and together entered the New Year whilst in Remembrance of Allah Almighty.
The gathering began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and then greetings and salutations were sent upon the Beloved Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) for 30 minutes. After this, the participants were asked to reflect upon the year 2013 and ponder over the acts they had done in the last year which were for the pleasure of Allah Almighty and Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and also reflect upon those acts which were in the disobedience of Allah Almighty and the Beloved Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Then a short lecture by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was played regarding ‘what our priorities should be’. This was followed by a transcript that was read from ‘Virtues of Dhikr Dhakireen’ also written by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri:
“Abu Huraira RA narrates that the Holy Prophet PBUH said, “There are some roaming angels of Allah Almighty, who go around in search of Dhikr sessions. When they find any such meeting they join in and sit with them.....” (Daabi, Kitab-ud-Dua P.283#104)
The participants collectively recited greetings and salutations and then dhikr (Remembrance) of Allah Almighty and closed the gathering with supplication in the Divine Court of Allah Almighty.
