Allah (SWT) says: ‘My servant! If you remember Me in privacy, I will also remember you in privacy; And if you remember Me in an assembly, I will also remember you in an assembly which is better and greater (than your assembly)’
The Muslim Youth League UK – Sisters in Bradford held their first combined ‘Halaqa-e-Durood’ and ‘Dhikr Mehfil’ on Sunday 14th July 2013, marking the beginning of the gatherings that would continue on a weekly basis. The ‘Dhikr’ gatherings were open to all and commenced in the early days of Ramadhan in an attempt to establish a culture of spirituality within the youth. The turnout was brilliant as over 25 sisters attended the first gathering.
In the first session on Sunday 14th July 2013, the sisters were briefly introduced to ‘Halaqa-e-Durood’ and were made aware of the strong network of ‘Halaqa-e-Durood’ gatherings that Minhaj-ul-Quran International has established around the world, the most prominent being the one at the Headquarters in Lahore. The etiquette of ‘Halaqa-e-Durood’ was briefly explained and also the fact that the gatherings will be structured around the official procedure outlined in the ‘Halaqa-e-Durood’ booklets. Following the introduction, 20 minutes were allocated to the silent recital of salutations and greetings upon our Beloved Prophet (SAW). This was followed by beautiful recitation of Naats, in honour of the holy Prophet (SAW), by Rehana Ilyas and many other sisters who were present at the occasion. The ‘Dhikr’ gathering was followed by ‘Salaam’ led by sisters Mariya, Misbah and Afsheen and soon after, a very spiritual supplication was made by Sister Maryam Akhtar. The ‘Halaqa-e-Durood/Dhikr mehfils’ will take place regularly on a weekly basis at Minhaj-ul-Quran Centre in Bradford. The details are as follows:
Date: Every Sunday Time: 3:00pm – 4:30pm
Venue: MQI Bradford, 187 Manningham Lane BD8 7HP
