The determinant factor which enables individuals in growing and advancing is the power of intention and the power of belief. Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri
There is nothing more decisive than the power of a Muslim's belief in Allah, the bestower of ability, who enables us to achieve our aims. Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri
Introduction:
In a world obsessed with material wealth, political influence, and strategic networking, we often find ourselves questioning why we fail to reach our goals despite having the “right” tools. Many individuals and communities feel a sense of stagnation, believing that a lack of resources is the primary hurdle to their progress. However, the history of Islam and the mechanics of the human mind suggest a different reality. True success is not a product of what you have in your hands, but what you carry in your heart and mind: the power of sincere belief and firm intention.
The Historical Proof of Belief Over Power:
If resources and political influence were the sole determinants of success, the early Muslim community would never have flourished. Looking at the life of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), his followers were initially lacking in wealth and influence. Yet, they created one of the most rapidly growing movements in history, moving from humble origins to a global presence. This proves that external factors are secondary to the internal drive and divine support that stem from pure conviction.
The Autonomy of the Brain and Habit Formation:
Modern psychology and spiritual wisdom both highlight the incredible capacity of the human brain to shape reality. The brain possesses such autonomy over the body that if you earnestly desire a change and remain adamant for six months, your habits will gradually evolve to manifest that wish. Whether it is starting to pray five times a day or becoming more charitable, the brain can “force” the body to achieve what the mind is sincerely committed to.
Overcoming the Trap of Negativity (Zann):
A significant barrier to progress is “Zann” (ظن) the tendency to assume the worst in people or situations. We often live in a state of pessimism, choosing to believe a negative outcome is true while ignoring the immense possibility of a positive one. This negativity leads to frustration and halts professional and spiritual growth. By shifting towards positivity in thought and assuming the best, we unlock the potential to move forward rather than blaming the world for our lack of achievement.
The Propelling Power of Certainty (Yaqeen):
Every journey needs fuel, and the fuel for personal and communal reform is certainty in Allah (سبحانه وتعالى). When a person convinces themselves they can achieve a goal and maintains absolute faith that Allah is the bestower of ability, no obstacle can stop them. Success comes to those who track their progress in character, worship, and morals, moving with the firm belief that their intentions will be supported by Divine will.
Conclusion:
Ultimately, success is an internal transformation that reflects externally. It requires us to introspect, identify our deficiencies, and commit to a path of reform with unwavering certainty. By harnessing the “brain power” of positive intention and relying on the strength of our belief, we can achieve objectives that resources alone could never secure.
