Bergamo, Italy: Chairman Supreme Council, Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Prof. Dr Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri, delivered a keynote address at the “Dhikr-e-Imam Husayn (AS)” Conference organised by Minhaj-ul-Quran International Bergamo at Minhaj-ul-Quran Mosque. The spiritually enriching gathering was attended by hundreds of devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), scholars, MQI office bearers, and members from across Italy.

In his address, Prof. Dr Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri said that love for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is, in reality, love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and love for the Prophet (PBUH) leads a believer to the love of Allah Almighty. He stressed that honouring and revering the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is a religious obligation and an integral part of faith.

Highlighting the virtues of Sayyiduna Ali (AS), Imam Hasan (AS), and Imam Husayn (AS), he cited several Prophetic traditions, including the famous hadith: “Husayn is from me, and I am from Husayn. Allah loves the one who loves Husayn.” He said that remembering Imam Husayn (AS) is, in essence, remembering the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and that the remembrance of the Ahl al-Bayt strengthens faith, spirituality, and devotion.

Speaking on the tragedy of Karbala, Prof. Dr Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri stated that it was not a struggle for political authority or worldly power, but a supreme sacrifice made to preserve Islam, truth, justice, and human dignity. He said that Imam Husayn (AS), through the sacrifice of his family and loyal companions, drew an everlasting distinction between truth and falsehood.

Concluding his address, he urged participants to embody the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) through righteous character, patience, steadfastness, and piety, while promoting unity within the Muslim Ummah and rejecting hatred and division.

The event concluded with special prayers for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and for peace, stability, and prosperity in Pakistan, Italy, and across the world.
